Meet the cover models : July 2014

Gracing this month’s cover is 24-year-old Lisa Mumbi and her one-year-old son Prosper Ndoria. Lisa works as a cashier at a local micro finance institution. Her job entails issuing and receiving money to and from customers. She says she loves her job because it allows her to interact with different people everyday.

Being a single parent, Lisa plays the role of both mother and father to her son. Motherhood has made her more responsible because she understands that all her decisions have a bearing on her one-year-old. She is however grateful to her family who offer her support whenever she needs it.

Lisa describes Prosper as a cheerful, very active and mature boy. They spend their time together on weekends playing at home, taking walks and swinging. Aside from these, Lisa has observed that cartoons capture his attention and she chooses appropriate ones for him.
